I just finished watching the chasers programme on ABC iview, a prequel to Lateline… what a great relief humour is to the constant bombardment of campaign rhetoric.
The last 10 days of this election campaign will see more promises, more spending, more rhetoric and more comment and beat ups by the media in general. Amongst all of this as Christians I believe firstly that we need to express ourselves by voting intelligently, by finding out the true story behind the mask of media management and working out God’s will for how we should vote for our local candidate. Even although we may feel disenfranchised and that no matter what we do with our vote that it will not count we must, I repeat must understand that every vote counts. Every individual vote comes together to express the will of the nation…. every vote and every preference we give WILL make a difference. I want to encourage every Christian resident in Australia to stand up and be counted and vote according to your conscience and according to the research you’ve done personally. Take this seriously because the future of a nation and its future generations is in your hands….

Incidentally i-view is a fantastic new online service for watching quality TV programmes from the ABC whenever you want to and completely for free.
