David Reidy is known as a Preacher, Worship Leader and Communicator with a great heart to see people move to new levels in their Christian life. David has been involved in the pioneering and establishment of some of Australia’s largest and most significant churches. David’s prophetic edge and his ability to speak powerful truths using the language of the day have brought invitations over the past 35 years to minister in conferences, large and small events and churches both in Australia and internationally. Over the past 10 years David and his team have seen over 50,000 people give their lives to Christ and have impacted hundreds of churches, pastors, leaders and thousands of people helping them to realise more of their own potential.
In the early years of his ministry David was involved with the pioneering of Youth Alive in Australia and at the same time David travelled with a band throughout the nation bringing a new sound to the church at large and seeing many people’s lives transformed. David’s ministry, in the early days, caused a degree of controversy with ‘…that new style of Christian Rock music’. David was instrumental in assisting Pastor Phil Pringle in the early days of Christian City Church now called C3 with music for their early meetings and crusades.
Following the release of his first album in 1986, 1987 saw David support several major US Christian Artists including Michael W Smith finishing the year as the guest artist at a historic Youth Alive Rally at Sydney’s Horden Pavillion. David has composed numerous worship songs including the well known song Blessing and Honour written with Geoff Bullock. This song was in the CCLI top 10 for many years until just recently.
In 1990 David became the Associate Pastor of Liverpool Christian Life Centre a thriving church under the leadership of the now State President of the Australian Christian Churches in New South Wales, John Mc Martin. During the time that David was at the church he launched the youth ministry and re-worked the music team bringing them to a much greater level of excellence. As John Mc Martin would say, ‘David was instrumental in changing the fabric of the church and bringing it forward into a level of excellence previously unseen’. Liverpool CLC is now known as Inspire Church and is a thriving church of over 4,000 people.
Between 1993 and 1999 David produced 2 further album projects one entitled ‘Rain’, a worship project for Sydney Christian Life Centre and his later solo worship album ‘Mercy’.
During 1999 and into the year 2000 David worked with Quest Australia to assist in organizing major evangelism for the 2000 Sydney Olympics, In June 2000 David led worship at Stadium Australia in a Pre-Olympic Christian event attended by over 50,000 Australians.
David was the Worship Pastor at Sydney Christian Life Centre between 1993-1999 serving under the leadership of Frank Houston. David and Linley have 3 amazing children; Jon, Katie and Michael. Linley is a practising Optometrist who is also a clinical supervisor in the Optometry faculty at the University of New South Wales and now has her own Specsavers practice in Miranda Westfield, Sydney Australia. Linley is an accomplished leader and speaker in her own right.
